1  RULES  
1.1 The event will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing – Windsurfing Competition Rules. 
1.2 The IFWC Class Rules and Championship Rules. 
1.3 No national prescriptions will apply. 
1.4 If there is a conflict between languages the English text will take precedence. 
Boards may be required to display advertising chosen and supplied by the organizing authority. ISAF Regulation 20 ‘Advertising Code’ shall apply. 
3.1 Gender Divisions – Women and Men 

3.2  Age Divisions - Fleets A and B

3.2.1 A Fleet- Women any age, Junior age 20 or less, Men age 21-35, Master age 36 to 50, Grand Master age 51 or more

3.2.2 B Fleet- Women any age, Junior age 20 or less, Men age 21-40, Master age 41 or more 

3.3 A minimum of 3 competitors is required to constitute a division. 

4.1 All entries shall meet the requirements of ISAF Regulation 19-Eligibility Code. 
4.2 Eligible competitors can complete the registration form at the competition site or pre-registration at the US Windsurfing Association website:
4.3 Competitors shall present the following at registration: 

    · Original Entry Form or pre-registration confirmation.

    · Proof of age/ picture ID

    · Emergency Contact & Health Information Form - for those under age of 18 

5  FEES 
5.1 The required entry fee is US $100.00 for one class,  US $120.00 for 2 or more classes.  The Freeride class on Saturday is free.
5.2 Entry fees paid at registration on-site shall be in cash only - US$. 

6.1 The Formula shall be a single discipline, course racing, "open entry" event. 
6.2 Wind permitting the morning racing disciplines will include Formula, Kona/Raceboard/Techno 293/RSX.  Formula wind minimum follows class rules. All other race classes have a 5-25 knot wind minimum.
6.3 Wind permitting Freestyle, Slalom, Long Distance and Freeride disciplines will be afternoon events.  Slalom will have a 12 knot wind minimum.
6.4 Men and women may race together. 

6.5 Any fleet shall have 3 entrants to be considered for a separate start. 
6.6 The race committee will consider running Slalom when the conditions are appropriate. 
6.7 The race committee will decide when to change from course racing disciplines (Formula, Kona/Raceboard/Techno 293/RSX ) to slalom, or freestyle or long distance. 
6.8 Competitors shall race a maximum of 5 races per day, in a maximum 15 race series. 
6.9 Three races are required to validate the championship.

6.10 The long distance races will be a beam reach, A fleet about 20 miles and B fleet about 10 miles total.

The first possible warning signal will be made each day at 11:00 am, except for the first day when the first possible warning signal will be displayed at 1:00 pm. 
8.1 All competitors shall bring their own equipment. 
8.2 Formula restrictions under Formula class rules.  Kona restrictions under Kona class rules.
      Kona Class Charters will be supplied by Progressive Sports.  Contact Sherry at [email protected] or 386-760-9926 to reserve a charter.
8.3 Equipment inspections may be made at any time during the event. 
8.4 No restrictions for Slalom, Freestyle and Long Distance classes.
8.5 Freeride class is only for non-racing equipment.
8.6 Unless otherwise directed by the organizing authority, boards and equipment shall be launched and retrieved from the designated area at the event site. 
The sailing instructions (SI’s) will be available upon registration. Any changes to the SI’s shall be approved by the Class Representative at the event. 
Courses will be as described in the sailing instructions. 
An ‘Independent Protest Committee’ will be appointed according to WCR 91(a). 
Scoring will be according to the WCR Appendix A, and using the Low Points Scoring System. IFWC 13.5 shall apply for discards.
Competitor support boats are not permitted. 
It is mandatory that every participant wear a PFD for the Long Distance classes.  A personal flotation device shall conform to the minimum standard of ISO 12402-5 (level 50), or as specified in the SI’s.    
15.1 Prizes will be awarded to the first three competitors of each properly constituted division. 
15.2 The first sailor in the overall ranking will be declared – "2016 US Windsurfing Nationals Champion." 
15.3 The first sailor in each division, eligible to compete for a North American national class association, will be declared - " 2016 US Windsurfing Nationals          (division) Champion".  
Competitors are requested to attend the event’s social functions; however, the organizing authority may refuse entry to those whose standard of attire is not commensurate with the occasion. 
Competitors participate in the event entirely at their own risk, see WCR 4 - Decision to Race. The organizing authority or any of their officials or representatives or the sponsors or their officials or representatives will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during or after the event. 
Each participating board shall be insured with valid third party liability insurance with a minimum cover of US $500.000 per event or the equivalent amount in another currency. 
In registering for the event, competitors automatically grant to the Organizing Authority the right in perpetuity to make, use and show from time to time at their discretion, any motion pictures, still pictures and live, taped or filmed television and other reproduction of them, taken during the period of the event, for the said Event as defined in the Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions in which he/she participates without compensation.
